Who this applies to
This policy applies to anyone who pays for a LockRole Starter, Pro, or Premium subscription at lockrole.com. The free plan has no payments and is not covered by this policy. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Limited, on our behalf.
LockRole is operated by DRAKRAFT d.o.o., a Serbia-registered company trading as LockRole. Paddle is the seller of record at the moment of payment and handles taxes, invoicing, and card disputes. LockRole is the underlying provider of the service and the party that decides whether a voluntary refund is granted.
Your statutory rights (EU, EEA, and UK consumers)
If you are a consumer resident in the EU, EEA, or UK, you normally have a fourteen-day right to withdraw from a distance contract for any reason, under Article 9 of EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights (and its national implementations, including the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).
LockRole subscriptions are digital content delivered without a tangible medium. AI features, document generation, and personalised job ranking become usable the moment your payment succeeds. Under Article 16(m) of the same Directive, this fourteen-day right does not apply to digital content whose performance has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal.
When you complete a Paddle checkout for a paid LockRole plan, Paddle asks you to give that express consent and to acknowledge that you lose your fourteen-day withdrawal right. If you tick the consent box and then access any paid AI feature, your statutory withdrawal right is extinguished by operation of EU law. If you complete checkout but do not access any paid feature within the fourteen days that follow, your statutory withdrawal right remains and you are entitled to a full refund on request.
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory right you have under the consumer law of your country of residence, including Serbia's Law on Consumer Protection where applicable.
LockRole voluntary refund policy
Independent of any statutory right, LockRole offers the following voluntary refund commitment.
We will refund your most recent subscription payment if all of the following are true:
- You request the refund within fourteen calendar days of the date of that payment.
- You have not used, in any meaningful volume during that billing period, the paid AI features the plan unlocks (CV tailoring runs, interview practice sessions, AI job ranking, cover-letter generation, ATS suggestions). Trivial or accidental use does not disqualify you; sustained use of the paid quota does.
- Your account is in good standing and has not been suspended, restricted, or flagged for violation of our Terms of Service.
Refunds are issued in the original payment currency to the payment method used. Processing is handled by Paddle and typically takes five to ten business days to appear on your statement.
What we do not refund
The following are outside the voluntary refund commitment above. They may still be covered by your statutory rights if those rights apply to you.
- Renewal charges past the fourteen-day window. Cancel before the renewal date if you do not want to be billed again. You can cancel any time from your account settings; cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Unused time mid-cycle. We do not pro-rate. Cancelling part-way through a paid month does not produce a partial refund; you simply keep access until the end of that month.
- Plan downgrades mid-cycle. A downgrade takes effect at the next renewal; we do not refund the price difference for the remainder of the current period.
- Accounts terminated for Terms of Service violations. Examples include sharing accounts, automated scraping of AI endpoints, fraudulent payment activity, or repeated refund-and-resubscribe patterns intended to extract free AI usage.
How to request a refund
Email support@lockrole.com from the address associated with your LockRole account and include:
- The email on your LockRole account.
- The Paddle order or transaction ID from your purchase receipt.
- The reason for the refund request (one or two sentences is enough).
We aim to respond within five business days. If we approve the refund, Paddle processes the payment back to your original payment method.
You may also be able to request a refund directly through Paddle using the receipt link Paddle emailed you at the time of purchase. Paddle will normally route the request to us for a decision.
Chargebacks and card disputes
If you are unhappy with a charge, please contact us first. Disputing a charge with your bank (a chargeback) is handled by Paddle, not by LockRole, and Paddle has its own dispute investigation process under the Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms and Conditions. Chargebacks raised before you have given us a chance to address the issue cost both sides time and money and can result in your LockRole account being suspended while the dispute is investigated.
In almost all cases we can resolve a billing problem faster by email than the card network can resolve a chargeback.
Subscriptions purchased through a third-party store
If you ever purchase LockRole through a mobile app store or other third-party reseller in the future, that store's refund policy governs the transaction and you must request the refund there. As of the date above, all LockRole subscriptions are purchased through Paddle on lockrole.com and this paragraph does not yet apply.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect. Refund requests are evaluated under the version of this policy that was in force on the date of your payment.
